v1.0 progress
A thread to discuss the new version.
My current personal circumstances are that I have very little time indeed for programming which is a hobby not a day job. Much as I would love to dedicate time to getting the next version out it just isn't realistic currently. I am hoping to restart things in October 2008 but even so it will be a slow process. There are no guarantees but I'm hoping to produce something for Q1 2009.
The new version v1.0 is a complete rewrite which will utilise almost no code from the original. It is modular and will allow contributors to add their own modules, pages, menu items and sidebar widgets. It will also be completely configurable from an aesthetic perspective and will use a template system with style sheets. It will also permit a user or administrator to be a member of numerous ladders with a single logon. It will support singles, doubles and team ladders (both fixed and ad hoc) and should have more provisions for online gamers as well as a selection of physical sports. Numerous stats/ranking systems are envisaged. The system messages and emails generated will be completely configurable. It also has a more sensible design that doesn't require the writing of .htaccess for each new ladder. Finally it is built for localisation so it should be usable in many different languages.
Currently the basic framework is in place to generate pages and sidebars for specific ladders. It can also dynamically change the look of the ladder via a style sheet. There is however much, much more to do.

Can I download the sources of V1.0?
I would like to help in the development.
