There is a new reserve in Leicestershire called Cossington Meadows. It is an area of former gravel pits that was taken over earlier this year by the Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust. There are great improvements in the site already compared to what it looked like last year. There wasn't that much of note to see on my walk around but I did find this nest just outside the reserve. It was very small in size although it's difficult to see that from the photo. I'm guessing it might be a wren's nest or similar small bird. If you have any ideas please let me know.
