Best free CSS editor ?
Submitted by matt on Tue, 15/03/2005 - 23:34I'm used to HTML and tables for layout and cascading style sheets (CSS) don't yet feel intuitive to me. I do use Dreamweaver MX 2004 but the design view doesn't often accurately reflect the changes I make. After googling around for a decent CSS editor I was ready to gave up.
By chance I stumbled across a fabulous freeware CSS editor that displays layout changes on the fly. It's an extension for Mozilla Firefox called Web Developer Extension and it's written by Chris Pederick.
Ladybirds - Biological pest control ?
Submitted by matt on Tue, 15/03/2005 - 23:20I am rather fond of ladybirds and enjoy seeing them chomping away on aphids which I particularly dislike! I have recently been diappointed in seeing fewer ladybirds despite considerable aphid infestations. Last year I invested in a 'ladybird hotel' to encourage ladybirds to overwinter in my runner bean patch as well as buying some ladybird larvae which I put on my broad bean plants. I can't say that I saw much effect from that - I never saw the larvae again and there didn't seem to be many ladybirds around - certainly none in the ladybird hotel.
